The incidence of dengue caused by mosquito bites is on the rise in Pakistan. Dengue cases are increasing in major cities of the country such as Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala. In Lahore alone, 1,511 people have been affected by dengue so far this year.
159 new cases of dengue were confirmed in Pakistan yesterday. Following this, the total number of dengue victims increased to 3 thousand 849 this year. As of yesterday morning, 151 people have been admitted for dengue recovery treatment. A maximum of 70 people are being treated at the government hospital in Rawalpindi.
The Ministry of Health has advised that many people are taking treatment from their homes without considering the impact of the disease and that they undergo medical examination. It is also reported that the Ministry of Health of the country is taking serious measures to control the spread of dengue.
