The schedule for the World Cup match has been announced last month. Accordingly, in the opening match, England-New Zealand teams are set to face each other in Ahmedabad. The Indian team will meet Australia in Chennai for its opening match.
Due to security reasons and concerns related to the celebration of Navratri on the first day of October 15, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials have requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to reschedule the match to a different date. The PCB’s request to change the date of the India-Pakistan match in the World Cup has also been reported in the news.
