It has been raining in Dindigul district for the past few days. Due to this, even though the sun is scorching during the day, the heat goes away at night and the cold prevails. It seems to bite not only humans but also snakes. Due to the rains, the snakes living in the bushes have started invading the residential areas. Due to this, the number of people coming to Dindigul Government Hospital for snakebite treatment has increased.

On an average more than 10 people come for snake bite treatment every day. Yesterday, 15 people from Dindigul, Kuttyapatti, Seelapadi, Mullipadi, Thamaraipadi and other areas came to seek treatment for snakebite. Among them, Udayakumar (16) from Dindigul Mettupatti and Mukesh Kumar (14) from Kuttiapatti came to the hospital for treatment after being bitten by a snake.

Both of them brought the snakes they studied with the help of their friends. They said that they brought the snake so that it would be convenient for the doctor to give proper treatment. It is also noteworthy that a person came for treatment with a snake that had bitten him the day before yesterday. Incidents of people coming for treatment for snakebites and being bitten by snakes have alarmed the hospital staff.
