History of Golden Temple Vellore

The history of the Golden Temple, also known as the Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple, dates back to the early 1980s, when Sri Sakthi Amma, a spiritual leader and humanitarian, founded the Sri Narayani Peedam.

The organization aimed to promote spiritual growth and social welfare through various charitable works and spiritual practices. In the early 1990s, Sri Sakthi Amma conceived the idea of building a temple dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity in Hinduism. The construction of the temple began in 1997, and it took over seven years to complete.
