500 cubic feet of water is being released from Mettur Dam for drinking water needs.

Due to the rains in the Cauvery catchment areas for the past few days, the flow of water to the Mettur Dam has started to increase.The water level of Mettur dam has risen due to the fact that the release of water from the dam for irrigation has been stopped and the inflow to the dam has increased.

As of today, the water level of Mettur dam has risen from 52.43 feet to 52.73 feet.Inflow to the dam has decreased from 2,968 cubic feet per second to 2,899 cubic feet per second.
