As the rainfall has completely decreased in the border areas of the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and in the Cauvery catchment areas, The amount of surplus water released from Karnataka dams has also decreased. Due to this, the water flow to Okanagan is decreasing day by day.
The flow of water in Cauvery river was 5,000 cubic feet per second as of yesterday evening. It has come down to 2,000 cubic feet per second as of this morning. Due to the decrease in water flow, rock patches are visible in the waterfalls including the main waterfall, Sini waterfall, Aindaruvi and Aivar Pani in Okanagan.
Due to the decreasing flow of Cauvery river, the amount of water coming to Okenakal has been reduced by Central Water Resources in Pilikundulu area on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border.
