In the central part of the North Bay of Bengal, a severe low-pressure area has formed, and it has intensified into a depression today.
This deep cyclonic circulation is now located around the Cape of Kanyakumari, near the Malabar Coast, and it is likely to make landfall near the Karai region this evening. The Indian Meteorological Department has confirmed this development.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a high probability of heavy rainfall in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Manipur, and Mizoram, and in the regions of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sathishgarh, Bihar, and Maharashtra.
In this situation, the deep cyclonic circulation has intensified into a depression over the Bay of Bengal, resulting in a storm warning for the first among the 7 ports in Tamil Nadu, namely Chennai, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Ennore, Kattupalli, Pamban, and Thoothukudi. Additionally, fishermen are advised not to venture into the deep sea as per the weather monitoring agency’s warning.
